Antenna Controllers

For almost 50 years, ViaSat has offered tracking systems based on our Antenna Control Units

Applications:
Antenna tracking system control units for antenna positioning and monitoring.

Model 8860

The Model 8860 Antenna Tracking Controller (ATC) is equally efficient for both manual or automatic antenna positioning of all ViaSat limited motion earth station antennas in conjunction with the 8861A/8862 Antenna Position Controller (APC).

The Model 8860 incorporates our patented AdapTrack predictive tracking, which "learns" satellite orbits and tracks geosynchronous satellites within 10% of the antenna Beamwidth Radial Error (BRE).

  • Microprocessor based8860 Antenna Controller
  • Stores up to 60 satellite positions
  • Multiple satellite tracking modes

Series 3880

The Series 3880 Antenna Control Unit is a microprocessor-based instrument that provides reliable antenna operation, status indication, and pedestal control.

  • Tracks Low-Earth-Orbit, Medium-Earth-Orbit, geostationary communications, and scientific satellites, aircraft and missiles
  • Full state-of-the-art Digital Control Servo algorithms to provide drift-free, robust servo controls with no operator adjustments
  • Provides a high level of automation
  • Advanced state Model Dynamic Equalization algorithms to provide higher precision tracking performance and lower signal degradation
  • Designed for use in pedestals with up to four axes and up to six discrete drives
  • For pedestals other than elevation-over-azimuth, such as X/Y, the controller can convert and display the axes position in the familiar azimuth/elevation coordinate system
