The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™ encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices. ViaSat recently opened new operations and engineering buildings, one a renovation and one new construction, obtaining the first LEED® Certification in Carlsbad, California.

Our operations facility has achieved a LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council. We are pursuing LEED certification for the new engineering building as well.

LEED is a third party certification program and the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high-performance green buildings. The certification promotes a whole-building approach to sustainability by recognizing performance in five key areas of human and environmental health:

• Sustainable site development

• Water savings

• Energy efficiency

• Materials selection

• Indoor environmental quality

 The “LEED Certification Mark” is a registered trademark owned by the USGBC and is used by permission.
