MD-1366 EBEM
The MD-1366 EBEM is the only commercially-available bandwidth efficient modem certified to MIL-STD-188-165B and compliant with STANAG 4486 ed. 3. The MD-1366 defines a new military standard for high-speed satellite communications. Using military and commercial satellites at X, C, Ku, and Ka band frequencies, the MD-1366 delivers much-needed capacity for the military's high-speed broadband and multimedia transmissions.
The MD-1366 supports the communications, command, and control requirements of today's highly mobile military forces. The modem interfaces to a variety of legacy military communications equipment, but uses advanced technologies, such as turbo coding and higher-order modulation techniques, to increase efficiency and throughput.
LinkWayS2
The ViaSat LinkWayS2 modem is the battlefield standard for C4I communications. This hubless MF-TDMA VSAT system enables you to cost-effectively integrate a variety of applications into a single platform in any network topology – full-mesh, star (hub/spoke), or hybrid. Adaptive on-demand bandwidth allocation and bandwidth-efficient coding and modulation engineered into the LinkWayS2 system gives you cost-effective broadband connections between any LinkWay-equipped sites. Features such as turbo coding and 8PSK modulation provide substantial bandwidth savings, reducing your transponder costs compared with other systems.
Delivering true network-centric connectivity, the LinkWayS2 system seamlessly integrates voice, video, and data applications, automatically routing mission critical information over a mesh single satellite hop network via unicast or multicast. LinkWayS2 modems are currently operating on Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites and can be used over any commercial or military satellite on C, X, Ku, or Ka-band using loop-back, split-beam or cross-strapped transponders.
MD-1377 Joint IP Modem (JIPM)
JIPM combines flexible satellite networking with information assurance capabilities to deliver secure, highspeed IP communications to the military and government agencies. JIPM is the Department of Defense (DoD) satellite modem standard for connecting all US forces. This system powers an IP networking backbone across the battlespace, enabling today's information-hungry warfighters to efficiently share voice, video, and data communications over military and commercial satellites (including Ka band) using adaptive and variable coded modulation techniques.
